I often refrain from commenting on blogs, even when I feel I have something valuable to say, for two reasons.I am afraid I will hurt the feelings of the blogger, even though what I would say would be said with the best of intentions.
I am afraid of being dismissed as a brainless twit, even if my point is valid and conveyed in a semi-intelligent manner.
And so, 90% of the time, I stick to fluff. Here, there, and everywhere. You don't have to apologize for fluff. You don't have to defend fluff.

13 humored me by saying something:
So you're trying to tell us that you're semi-intelligent?? Who'da thunk it?? ;-)
Not that I don't like your fluff. In fact, some days I have on overwhelming desire to fondle your fluff (I know ... I know ... entirely different post), BUT ...
I really like it when you get a bit stirred up and let us all see it!!
Your opinion is just as valid as mine or anyone elses. Let it rip. Your kindness shows through.
Give me what you got, dear. Give me what you got. Seriously. Because I always, always, always like it when you come around!
I'm a bit quiet about commenting, but I'll take this moment to say how much I enjoy what you share.
My best.
Ok. So in one of those TMI Tuesday or Wednesday Weirdness or 25 Things About Me memes I remember you saying "I'm smarter than most people think."
I'd have modified that to "I'm smarter than most people think, even the ones who know I'm smart."
And what that means is that a) we're not likely to imagine your comments are fluffy-headed but also b) we're actually not that likely to imagine them criticisms but c) if we do we'll probably figure something out instead of get all pissy about it.
For the record if I only commented when I was positive I wasn't going to accidentally tick someone off I'd head down to the piercing parlor for a mouth-zipper too. :-)

This isn't me criticizing you for leaving only mild comments, by the way. We all have our personal styles in the first place. And any blogger who looks at his or her server logs knows only one in maybe 100 leaves comments anyway. So even if you just say howdy it's nice to hear a human "voice."
Take care,

If you don't feel comfortable making a public comment you could always send an email and make it a two way conversation.
Wasn't this Vixen's CQW last week or so?
You were always welcomed with open hearts over by me and I for one miss your comments.

Dear Biscuit, you have a kind mind. And a kind heart. If you try not to offend anyone. What would you have left to say? Please speak your mind and heart!
I love it when you comment. Just say it! :) I'd love to take it from you! How's that for some fluff?
But you are apologizing and defending your fluff.
I believe that you do not have to defend your feelings. I believe that you need only the slightest rationalization for your beliefs. If you wanna convince people that you are right or convince them that you are a airhead you may need a little better reasoning.
You are not just smart, you are downright brilliant. You are also extremely socially aware and try to be personally aware. I realize that there are twits out there who take things the wrong way, but most of the time they are looking for something by which to be offended and they do not deserve as much compassion as you habitually show. But you wouldn't be you if you did not show it.
I'm a fluff-addict myself. *sigh* Unless I know the person well, I just refrain or leave something with very little meaning.
Me= NON CONFRONTATION.
