I am ashamed of my "I don't wanna" on Tuesday. I am blessed with good health, and the little bit of discomfort I will endure is nothing compared to what a cancer patient and their family endures.
So, to those who ask why I would want to ride four hours on a bike that goes nowhere, my answer is "Because I can."
I can for all of those who can't.

11 humored me by saying something:
And that's why you're good people.
Yikes, Biscuit. I don't want to intrude on your anonymity but if you'll post the standard one-person donation for your spin-a-thon I'll give the same amount to my local American Cancer Society chapter.
I got checked, almost on a whim, for colon cancer 15 years ago. And if I hadn't gone in... and if they hadn't found and (easily, painlessly) removed some pre-cancerous tissue that could have been *me.* It wasn't fun but all things considered it was worth it.
Thanks for doing this.
Also, what Osbasso said!
Good luck this weekend.

Works for me!
May God bless you for having compassion and love for all.
Exactly! The world needs more people like you.
And we will all hold you in our hearts on Sunday. That's the way is should always work!
Yes. Exactly like you said.
I *heart* you.
Nicely said. I'll keep you and family and friends in my heart today too.
Beautifully said. I'm so proud of you! Hope yesterday was smooth pedalling!
Here via Dana to see what sexy looks like! LOL
Wow, sorry about your friend. So very sorry.
And I think it's great that you can even ride a bike for four hours, not to mention the REASON why you are doing it!
It's not true that there are no stupid questions. That's the first answer I can think of when people ask why I joined up, or why I give blood. Dur!
The world would be a better place if every one of us gave back what we could, where we could.
Thanks for sharing your gifts. You're cantributing a load of time and sweat to one of the things that may help find a cure for them.
